What we handle
- Personal tax (T1) — Employment, self-employment, rental, investment and multi-year returns, including the ones you are behind on. From $50.
- Corporate tax (T2) — Federal and provincial corporate returns, notice-to-reader financials, and the year-end cleanup that goes with them. From $400.
- HST returns — Quarterly and annual filing, input tax credit review, and catch-up on missed periods before CRA assesses you.
- Bookkeeping — Monthly books kept current so year-end is not a scramble. QuickBooks and Xero.
- Non-resident returns — Section 216 rental income, Section 116 clearance certificates, and departure returns.
- Business setup — Incorporation, HST and payroll registration, and structuring advice before you commit.
Why clients stay with Ruby Tax
Ten years and thousands of returns. We have seen your situation before, whatever it is. Clients right across Canada, most of whom never set foot in our office.
Distance is not a problem. Documents move electronically and we file for clients in every province. You do not need an accountant on your street, you need one who answers.
You talk to the person doing the work. No account manager, no handoff. The person who files your return is the person who answers your email.
You know the price before we start. A flat fee, agreed in writing. Hourly billing surprises are how most firms lose clients, so we do not bill that way.
We fix the backlog, not just this year. Behind on filings? That is most of the calls we get. It is fixable, and it is far better fixed voluntarily than after CRA contacts you.

Common questions
Can you file for me if I am not in Ontario?
Yes. We file personal and corporate returns for clients in every province. Documents move electronically, so where you live makes no practical difference to how we work or what it costs.
How much does a personal return cost?
Straightforward personal returns start at $50. Self-employment, rental or investment schedules add to that depending on how much is involved. You will know the price before we start.
How much does a corporate return cost?
Straightforward T2 returns start at $400. The price depends on whether your books are current, how many accounts there are, and whether you need notice-to-reader financials.
I am two years behind on filing. Can you help?
Yes, and it is far more common than you would think. Filing voluntarily is almost always better than waiting for CRA to assess you. Penalties and interest accrue either way, and filing first leaves you with options.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, year-round. Corporate clients we take any month. Personal returns book up through March, so earlier is better.
What do you need from me to start?
For a quote, just a description of your situation. To do the work: last year’s return, your bookkeeping file or bank statements, and any CRA correspondence.
